They didn't this year.
There were too many nights this year where you thought, okay, I know this team well enough to know this.
And it was like, wow.
And I point to those two losses to the Florida teams as a good example of that.
And you're like, wow.
So, I mean, I'll pick them to win tonight.
But the fact that, and going into the last game, I wouldn't have been shocked if the Oilers won game 5-7-1.
I would have been shocked if they lost it 4-1 and just came out flat.
That's how unpredictable and that's how much this team does not feel like it's got a base game.
Hey, the one thing you can rely on, they may hit a few posts, they may this or that, the luck may or may not go their way, but the one thing you can rely on is they're going to play Oiler hockey tonight.
I don't know what that is this year, Bob, and I still feel the same way heading into tonight's game.
That being said, I think that they can win this game.
Well, they were so well-constructed, Bob.
Like, you think about that fight they gave the Oilers in that playoff series, and the players that they had.
I mean, they gave the Oilers everything they could handle and almost won that series.
So for it to have come unraveled as fast as it has, I was saying I've got a lifelong buddy who's a lifelong Canucks fan, and it's been kind of entertaining for me discussing this with him over the years, but...
Oh, it's pretty staggering how that thing has come apart.
Well, it's a part of it, but it doesn't take out the magic eraser for all the other mayhem that's gone on there.
It's like one thing after another with the ownership group and one thing after another, you know, in the locker room and one thing after another.
Like it just, honestly, Bob, it's just been, yeah, it's just been kind of mayhem there.
