And I was so fucking terrified in year seven and got up there.
And there was one guy who I was terrified of his opinion and he wasn't, it wasn't to be beaten up.
He was just kind of the biggest cynic and sort of the cool, like,
Very cynical, very negative in a cool year seven kind of way that everyone kind of gets guided by his energy.
And I sung the song and then we all had to walk out and he was making a beeline for me after the thing.
And I was like, fuck, he's coming to tell me how shit it was.
And then, and he just, he looked at me and he goes...
You should do it again.
And then just like walked off.
And I was like, I seriously think if he had said something negative, I probably wouldn't have continued to sing, play music, do that.
But at that point it was like, I will do it again and I have permission to be myself.
Can I ask you, it's a bit of a question brings together a couple of things that you mentioned, but earlier on you talked about the plumbers and the splashdown workers and how good they were, the superpower deflecting.
Deflecting insults, deflecting, anticipating insults through humor.
I imagine, and I'm guessing here that as a kid, as a teenager, you would have been pretty good at that with the dancing and deflecting.
Do you think, and I've done it a lot myself with things I am insecure about, but for me, it can come at a cost.
Do you think there can be a cost to that sort of humour?
