And it would have been a gold medal and it would have been amazing.
But it's still in the back of everyone's mind.
Well, we haven't beat Canada when it counts.
The way we were able to do it, I mean, we wrote a hot goalie.
People say, oh, without Hellbug.
It's like, well, that's the game.
I mean, some people say you might as well call the sport goalie.
And he just stood on his head.
And the first period, that boldy goal was amazing.
But in terms of, like, the country here, like, hockey is getting better and better and better.
And there's issues with youth hockey, I think, all over Canada.
and the amount of kids who may end up playing.
Now, money is an issue, but the amount of kids who want to play at least and will give it a shot after seeing what happened and Jack Hughes' life changing forever, it's just something I'll never forget.
And, like, I was emotional after, and that's something I watched.
I watched the World Cup of Hockey and I haven't seen anything since.
You know, we've seen the World Juniors, you've seen everything, but it doesn't matter.
And it didn't matter until you beat Canada.
And so for me, growing up, just like idolizing that World Cup team, I was 13 years old then.
And then to see a new group of guys and a new group of kids being able to idolize different people.
moving forward and 25 years from now having some superstar from the u.s who talks about being you know seven six nine years old when that game happened that's that's big for our country and canada still you know you're always chasing after canada you always will but for at least this year in the next couple years till the next best on best world cup it's like we finally have bragging rights and it had to happen at some point but
