And they did come out at the end and Governor Bullock did say it wasn't a matter of if we were going to hike the cash rate, but a matter of when.
Apparently, that's what the discussion really was about, the robust debate.
But I do think deep down that RB8, well, not even deep down, I think that the RB8 is
watching the economy like a hawk, watching consumer and business confidence like a hawk.
I do think that we're about to get inflation data the next round coming through, a couple of other things.
I think all of those figures are a little bit outdated for the RBA's next meeting.
They've got to be looking at, you know, far more current data points in order to answer the question about whether they height the cash rate yet again at the main meeting.
Okay.
Well, the government's made it very clear that the scheme is not entirely on the chopping block in the upcoming budget, but it is going to get a haircut because it is
The costs of it spiralling out of control at this point in time is not sustainable.
So it'll be interesting to see exactly how they opt to rein it in, clearing up some of the

It's such an important scheme, but also the significant cost of it equally can also add to inflation.
And so the government, again, is walking a very fine line here about, you know, making sure people get the support that they need, making sure that the money goes to the people that need it the most, making sure that, you know, yes, it does help people in really important jobs in our society, but equally.
that they're not overspending, they're not going to get accused of adding to the inflationary pressures.
And that's that very fine line that we're seeing right now.
I think the problem is that, you know, it doesn't matter what your income is or how much money, you know, you have in your family unit, you know, a disability is a disability and, you know, it's unfair from the outset.
So I can see the hesitation to means tested.
It could be that there's an element of means testing in there where, you know, and we see this in things like the childcare subsidy where you can claim for the childcare subsidy
