He didn't.
And then months later, the wine came in.
But interestingly, I was watching Unfiltered last night with Hamish McLaughlin interviewing Mark Blifzars from Geelong, who's obviously into wine.
And Hammer asked him, what would be the bottle of wine you'll have when you retire with Chris Scott?
And he said a bottle of DRC, Domaine Romani Conti.
Yeah.
Are you asking what glasses he'd be using?
That is one of the greatest questions you've ever asked me, and it's actually something that's always annoyed me.
There isn't actually a rule, and it is something that I've thought about for a long time, that there should be a consistent standard.
Isn't there a line on the glass?
Yeah, the lines on the glass are done by the restaurants so that the staff don't overpour.
I would say generally you're looking in most venues doing 150 mils to 175 mil.
But I actually think it would be good if wine lists more and more put on there how many mils there are.
Not so much for the value, but also you can try to potentially work out how many standard drinks you're having.
So remember, a standard drink...
by definition in wine is 100 mils at 10% alcohol.
So if you've got a glass of red, that's 14% alcohol.
Clearly, if you've got 175 mils in your glass, you're getting closer to two standard drinks and not one.
So I think it would be a great thing for DrinkWise and others to almost mandate because then we would know how much we're drinking and then there's, of course, the value equation as well.
Tell Gary why that's not a great idea, please, George.
