Of course, missing your first choice is going to hurt, but, like, in 2026, with the amount of formats going on, to actually have a team where your best bowlers are expected to be fit when they're in, like, getting towards their mid-30s in three formats is asking for problems.

I mean, you need to have guys... I mean, I don't think that's the case for India or anything.

You know, obviously, Boomer is an outlier, but, like, they don't rely on their best quicks across three formats.

You know, they have different players who do it.

You know, you have to be able to have that versatility...

I think it's the case for England as well, South Africa.

Yeah, I think that's an excuse.

I just think that these results, it's a pattern.

They show up, the structural lack of prioritisation of T20 cricket.

I'm not necessarily saying that that means Australia has to address it and fix that, but these are the reasons that this happens.

Perhaps the reason to have the conversation is because if you accept that, like, if you follow the money, it would therefore follow that the best exponents of the game of cricket will increasingly play T20 cricket because that's where the money is.

And if countries like Australia bury its head in the sand and culturally and holistically reject it, they will expedite their place as also-rans in international cricket, which is where they are.
