Instead, she walked out with a diagnosis on the bipolar spectrum.

Dr. Bjorksten said Lee had something called hyperthymic temperament, a condition characterized by dwelling, blaming, and temper outbursts, a condition he wanted to treat with medication.

Did you ever have any history of mental illness?

Never had any mental illness.

Lee admits she was emotional.

I cried quite a lot.

She was alone, having a difficult pregnancy, and just had a scare that her baby might have Down syndrome.
