I'm in the Pacific Northwest, but my story is in Montana where I grew up.
In a small town.
A mountain town.
Small mountain town.
Beautiful.
Yeah, this happened about 15, 20 years ago, my senior year of high school graduation weekend.
So it was a small Montana town where I grew up and it's really beautiful there.
So it tends to attract pretty big local kind of blue collar population.
And then it attracts a lot of kind of early retirees who are going there to build their like lodge home, finish raising their kids, recreate that kind of stuff.
The granola people who are kind of in and out of college doing the guide life.
I like using recreate as a verb.
The recreators.
The recreators.
Yeah, yeah.
High school, it was pretty small, just over 400 people in total.
So my graduating class was like maybe a hundred.
So there was definitely some tense socioeconomic undertones at the high school.
My car was like a 77 Volvo, just old kind of beater.
And then there were kids with like brand new SUVs.
And there was just a little bit of that going on in the social dynamics.
