Yeah, it's hilarious.

I'm still working on the story because Jeff Merrick called me about it and changed the entire trajectory of the story.

He said something so creative that he wants there to be a shootout before every game.

So that can be the tie after.

I'm like, wait, I didn't know that was an option.

A warm-up shootout?

But a lot of people, I mean, David, you're the only one that was kind of in favor of keeping it the way it is.

But like, I think we'd be complaining about it in any situation, even if it wasn't the loser point, right?

Because I guess when they brought in overtime, it seemed like the fairest way to score more goals.

But now we are in a goal scoring era and the stats have shown that it hasn't really helped anybody.

make people score more goals in fact in the third period sometimes like teams are smartly kind of skating boring like getting to that the result of having an extra point did you see ruining it did you see the end of the flyers oilers game the other night the flyers literally just skated out the puck for like 30 seconds just passing back and forth it's like college basketball in the 80s

Yeah, it's so lazy.

It makes me want to not like the teams that do that.

Like I've had it out for the Islanders forever when they'd been doing that.

That's not really the case with them anymore.

So that's good.

But oh, my goodness.

You look at the Pacific.

It's just like the amount of loser points in there, like something needs to change.

My thing is, when it comes to Hockey Canada and the Maple Leaf, it's such an iconic fixture in the sport.
