Sanoit, että bingo, me löysimme täydellisen henkilön Launalla. Maskelinismi on rekkurioitunut teema sinun kirjoissasi. Se on erittäin tärkeä tässä kirjassa. Mitä sinua tuntuu tästä teemasta niin paljon?
We absolutely love a good book recommendation on this podcast, please. Have you had time to read? Well, you've been flying around and hanging out with Oprah. What have you been reading that you'd love to shout about from the rooftops, please, Douglas?
For me it was a book about artistic corruption, moral corruption and the ways people will compromise themselves in order to survive. I loved it. Okay, so the director by Daniel Kellman, is that right? That's right. Okay, excellent. Douglas, after so long it's been fantastic to meet you. It's lovely to chat to you. Thank you so much. Thank you so much, Sarah. Best of luck. I mean, you don't need it, but best of luck with John of John. And thank you so much for joining us on the Radio 2 Book Club.
Kiitos paljon, Farah.
Nyt tämä on Radio 2 Book Clubin Sarah Coxilla.
Once upon a time there was a young girl called Sarah from Bolton who dreamed of having her very own book podcast. And her dream came true.
Don't worry. Don't call for medical backup. I'm fine. There's a reason for me being a bit silly, because we've got a very special episode for you today, celebrating the magic of stories, all part of the BBC's Once Upon a Time week. Inspired by the British Library's Fairy Tales exhibition, we are inviting you to celebrate reading, storytelling and libraries. And my guest today knows a thing or two about fairy tales.
She's an award-winning, best-selling author with a background in mythology and folklore, whose work focuses on the mythic imagination and its relevance to the issues we face today. Can't wait for this. We say a big Radio 2 Book Club welcome to Dr. Sharon Blackie. Now, Sharon, you are a former neuroscientist and psychologist and now a superstar author and teacher. When did you first become interested in fairy tales?
Well, it's been absolutely fascinating talking to you, Sharon. Thank you so much. Thank you for joining us. And best of luck with your book, Ripening Why Women Need Fairy Tales, by Dr. Sharon Blackie, published by September Books, is out now. Sharon, thank you so much. Thank you. It's been a pleasure.
She was great, wasn't she? As part of the BBC's Once Upon a Time Week, why not pay a visit to your local library and see what they have to offer? And remember that BBC Sounds has hundreds of audiobooks that you can enjoy anytime you like. Right, that is your lot for this week. Please join me for our next episode when we'll be celebrating the joys of comic books with a special episode recorded at the Phoenix Festival in Oxford. Until then, just stay absolutely marvellous.
