It was just the most awful moment.

Awful thing.

Was that a kind of final straw for you?

Not quite, no.

And there should have been many final straws now, looking back.

I should have told him it was over when he didn't turn up for the lunch with my family, but I forgave him at the time.

No.

I still was believing his story, substantially believing his story.

I was uneasy.

Of course, I was uneasy about what was going on.

But I was on the face of it, believing his story that his ex-wife was causing all these problems and the children were in a state.

He sent me a message.

I'm so sorry about this.

I need to devote some time to the children.

I haven't been giving them the attention they need.

I can't talk now there's too much happening I'll be in touch and for three weeks he would not talk to me on the phone he wouldn't take my calls I'd send a text message saying how are you what's going on and he would reply days and days later for a lot of that I tried to work but I eventually ended up on my mother's couch I flew from Sydney to Queensland to curl up in a ball on my mother's couch and

And I got an email.

I decided I had to get back to Sydney to work because, you know, it was affecting my work.

I was having to take sick leave from work.

And that's a terrible thing, that his behaviour should have affected my profession and my career like that.
