So do you take a specimen back that's dead and kind of start dissecting it and looking into it?
Like what does that mean and what does that process look like?
Yeah, it's fascinating.
I'm curious as well, what do these discoveries mean for our oceans and our understanding of them?
What role does the deep sea play in the broader ecosystem of the world's oceans?
Now, it is World Oceans Day.
What's your message to people listening about, you know, how we should be prioritising and caring for the world's oceans, whether it's surface level, what we can see or the deep that we have still yet to discover?
Well, actually, it's funny you mentioned that because I've been caught out recently with a few AI-generated vids of people pretending to be on these deep-sea expeditions and discovering these weird creatures, but it actually has turned out to be AI.
But what you're saying is the truth is stranger than fiction, so follow the work you guys are doing, not AI.
I love it.
