While not yet confirmed by the government, the Prime Minister says it's clear young people don't feel like they're getting a fair crack at the moment, especially when it comes to housing.
So that's the Prime Minister there pretty much skirting over this whole concept, which he was pretty big on, like, during the election campaign with all the debates and stuff like that.
He was like, no, no, no, we're not doing this.
This is not happening.
This is a schmear campaign.
The Libs are making this up.
The Coalition are making it up.
And then it's like, well, come budget number two, we might be seeing it.
Changing pace now, and a man will face court today after allegedly killing his brother and parents in their Sydney home over the weekend.
Police were called to a Rose Meadow home in Sydney's southwest just after 1.30am yesterday, where they found the man's mother and father, both in their 60s, badly injured, and his 25-year-old brother dead inside.
The 32-year-old has been charged with three counts of murder and one count of attempted murder.
He has been refused bail and will appear before local court today.
A deal on critical minerals is expected during the three-day visit, but also talks on defence and broader economic security, with Takeuchi pushing for guarantees around gas supply.
There's also a milestone wrapped up in all of this.
The visit marks 50 years since the signing of the Basic Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation between Australia and Japan.
We don't really have a formal alliance in the sense of AUKUS and things like that, but we do have this treaty and, you know, a bunch of friendliness between Australia and Japan.
So that specific treaty is something that will be recognised during the visit.
And that treaty was actually born out of the 1973 Middle East oil shock.
And the timing with another energy crisis unfolding in the region at the moment is not lost on anyone.
And of course, this visit will just build on all the legwork of the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Penny Wong.
