Can one of those guys under Manny at the AHL level now get to the National Hockey League level and become a core piece for this team?
Yeah.
And Burrows' journey was so interesting because he played so well at the AHL level for a few years, for a couple of years for the Canucks.
It was...
you know, under AV where he kind of became a point per game player.
And that year he got called up to the big club and he earned himself a three-year contract.
I think that contract was worth like 500,000 per year, like, you know, very close to league minimum.
And his second season, he had three goals and nine points in 82 games or 81 games.
And that off season, or I think the exit interviews, Burroughs tells a story.
AV sat him down and said, if you show up to camp playing like this, your NHL career is going to be done.
You're on the verge of not being a National Hockey League player.
What happens the next year?
He scores 12 goals, 31 points and starts, you know, climbing the ranks and becomes a top six player within a couple of years.
But it was somebody who had faith in him and also knew him, but also challenged him.
And it didn't look like Burroughs was going to be a player.
When you score nine points and three goals in 81 games.
You don't look at that guy as being, is he going to be anything, right?
And the next thing you know, now, I'm not trying to suggest any of these Canucks prospects are that, but that's what you're kind of hoping for here is that can somebody rise through the ranks and can that familiarity with the AHL coach, who's now the National Hockey League coach, help bring somebody along that becomes something special for you?
And I think that's the hope, obviously.
