I think that might be the more realistic pool the Canucks are looking at.
And there aren't any players available anyways, right?
Like that aren't any real consequence.
And even some of the role players, like A.J.
Greer is a really interesting role player.
And that's not a player that you can go and sign to, you know, a cheap one or two year contract and flip.
It's going to be a bigger contract.
Like all of these guys are going to get paid.
So I think.
I'm not sure this free agent market is really going to tell us about the Canucks' actions.
I know people want to see them be aggressive by signing players and flipping them.
I think what they are going to do more likely is try to find the next Dakota Joshua type players.
Guys from the AHL level perhaps that didn't get an opportunity.
I think guys like that will get a chance.
And I think in terms of them going after some bigger names, even Brendan Gallagher, I do think
whether you want to call it budget or just roster management, they do want to move guys out before bringing another salary like that on via trade one way or another.
And I don't think it's just about the money.
I think it's about opportunity more than anything.
Because if you go through the Canucks roster, if they don't get rid of a vet or two and bring another vet or two in, then where is the opportunity for the young guys in the first place?
And you need to have those spots available too.
