Well, I don't think this is necessarily a departure from what we see in other organizations.
We oftentimes do see the supporting executives, AGMs, have multiple hats, wear multiple titles.
Like, look at RJ, for instance.
AGM and GM of the Abbey Canucks.
Now, obviously, his chief focus was very much on the Abbey Canucks, but we do know that he did take on a bigger role in terms of scouting, even on the amateur side, even before the decision was made on Patrick Alvin's future.
And perhaps this was...
the inevitable that was going to happen with Patrick Alvin, that RJ was also going on these scouting missions to watch Caleb and the other high draft picks.
So as much as he was the Abbey GM, he did do more than just, you know, run the Abbey Canucks.
So I don't have, I don't necessarily have an issue with people wearing multiple hats.
And I think part of
the strengths of some individuals as the ability to do more than one thing.
At the same time, the more people you have who are credible, who are good at what they do, that specialize in certain areas, would, in theory, give you more resources and perhaps a better chance of having success in each individual role.
So I'm not downplaying the idea of it'd be nice to have somebody be the director of player personnel, somebody being the director of player development.
But it's not a far departure of what happens, except for teams like the Leafs and teams that have more robust front offices that are more specialized in each individual.
So we know the Canucks are probably not going to build out a front office the same level as the Leafs and other teams are going to.
It doesn't mean it's doomed for failure.
People know what they're doing.
And the thing is, it's not like they pay top dollar for their executives.
