And if you go and trade for a Matthew Nyes and give up all those assets, I think that makes sense for where the age is at.

Don't go and make these trades until your team is ready to win.

I think the Habs model has been romanticized slightly because they've also made the age gap trades, right?
They traded a first round pick for Kirby Dock.
They traded a first round pick for Alex Newhook.
And this was before they were any good.
They made these moves.
And that's something that I want to see the Canucks avoid for the time being.
