He goes, trust me, when you break something, that's when it changes. He goes, right now you're having hits with people that would have hits regardless if you were working with them. Like Britney Spears is going to have hits regardless if you were a part of If You Seek Amy. Like I'd be giving her stuff, Luke would be, you know.
And Usher was going to have hits whether we had DJ Gals falling in love or not. And he goes, when you break something, it changes everything. And that always stuck with me. And then, you know, weirdly, it was actually Cher Lloyd and One Direction together because we had Want You Back for Cher Lloyd. And the industry saw that those two as like my projects.

You know, obviously there's a team of people involved, but, you know, I was spearheading that and and that changed everything. I mean, look, it wasn't like artists were calling me going like, you know, I want a song like What Makes You Feelful. It was more that the gatekeepers, like the label heads and A&Rs were like, oh, you're a rainmaker. Like come in and solve these problem projects for us.

You know, that was that was sort of the thing. And it just opened up. It one, it was a confidence booster for sure, because I realized, oh, that's what I'm probably best at. Like cracking, cracking a code and putting the right creatives around the code and cracking it. And that's what I ended up like being a part of moving forward after sort of One Direction was done for me, you know.

Amazing. Cher was such a talent. I mean, she was such a... She had such presence and star power. Yeah. And it was really, it was my first time A&Ring something.

So like, you know, it was weird because that one is the one that broke in the States, but in England, it was another song that I didn't write, which was so like a thing of pride for me because I wanted to make sure like, I don't want it to be like a song that breaks or that I wrote. I really want to A&R this, you know?

And she had a number one in the UK with something I didn't write, which I think also helped though, this whole thing of like, oh, you're a rainmaker. We know that you're not going to, have like an agenda that you're only pushing your songs. Because if anything, I've talked myself out of singles a number of times. Interesting. Because I just believe that the best song should win.
