She was like, well, just don't cancel. Just like, wasn't that show you like? Wasn't that on yesterday? Go watch that before you go to the studio. And I was watching, I don't want to spoil anyone who hasn't seen This Is Us, by the way, the greatest drama ever on network television. Shout out to Dan Vogelman, who created it. So I watched this episode of This Is Us.
And for those of you, have you watched This Is Us before? No, but my mom is a big fan of it. Okay, so your mom will know this episode. It's an episode where they find out that the dad had a brother. And Mandy Moore's character says something like,

And I was like, oh, that feels like George Michael. That's a good chorus. So I would go in the studio with confidence. I think I have something. And then Sam, of course, being brilliant, switched it to, how do you sleep when you lie to me? And, you know, and saw it for what it was. And then Ilya did an amazing job with the track. And then there you go. I love that.

We did Confidence and that felt good. And which ended up being like the huge sync song, where I go confident. But, you know, she always loved the guitar thing. I always saw her as like a new Kelly Clarkson. She has such a fantastic warm tone and voice and everything. You know, I said, I want to do something with guitars. Ali had this track.

It felt like chaos, but it was genius in this chaos of this sort of sonic landscape. We had to cut and, you know, paste parts of it. And he's, you know, he's just so, he was so good at that stuff. He is. yeah, we just crafted this song. Like it took a long time to craft Cool for the Summer, by the way, because it's a very different structure. It was the same.
