If we don't do it, there'll maybe be some question marks over that decision.

If we end up getting through, despite the fact that some of their performances have been a bit disappointing, there'll maybe be sort of less question marks over it, you would say?

Well then I suppose part of that comes down to the fact that standards have been raised now because just getting to a major tournament was enough.

But Steve Clarke has now done that three times.

So he is the manager that has raised those standards and is now having to meet those standards and expectations.

Has it been a disappointing three games for you, Martin?

Well, you can tell that Steve Clarke is frustrated by what's happened tonight because I was just seeing there that his BBC interview, his Flash interview that he did, apparently gave two very short answers to begin with.

And then his third answer, when he was asked about, you know, hopes of progressing, said, sorry, I don't want to talk about that and walked out the interview.

Yeah, is that a frustration for you, Martin?

The fact that some of the big players, the ones who we credit with the fact that they've got us to this position maybe just haven't shown up on the biggest stage?

I'd spoken to quite a few former Scotland players in the build-up to this tournament and quite a few of them, Kenny Dalgleish included, said that he didn't really enjoy the tournaments when he was there at the time because he said that every time he finished up he felt just disappointed that Scotland could have done more at the tournament and should have done more at the tournament.

and never actually managed it, never made it to a knockout stage.

And his advice to these players was, make sure that's not you this year.

And, you know, we still might get through, but you do fear that there are maybe some players that will be in that dressing room thinking that they could have done more over the course of the three games gone.

Martin, is the hope that if results go our way and we get through, that there is more to come from this Scotland team and that those players can step up?
