I...
And again, I don't, you know, sometimes you make moves for particular reasons and otherwise you make moves knowing that I can make this move and that move and that next move is yet to come.
So you had one of two or three moves to make and the final answer is not yet made, you know.
So I would imagine that's the case here too.
as far as I think it does change something is that we have seen the idea J.D.
Martinez's contract is a DH when he was 30 and he got a five year contract and we got Schwarber a five year contract and he's going to be 33 it evidences in the market that these premium talents that have power are in great demand and the teams are willing to give more length
to secure plot power in the marketplace.
And of course, in fairness to the younger players, that they would deserve requisite length as evidenced by this, you know, what's going on currently in the market and the demand for it.
So it helps, huh?
I think it helps anybody that's 30, you know, 29, you know, as to how you look in the market.
You know, I mean, Schwarber is obviously one of the best power hitters in the game, and all these guys that are elite in what they do, whether they're 29 or 30, that they see a player who's got five years' length at 33, it's obviously a fair quotient for the players that are younger to demand more years.
Certainly the market's telling that.
Right, yeah.
Whether that actually happens or not, I don't know, but...
So that was a good sign.
For me, it was anticipated because the players have such value.
He's certainly deserving of that.
But you can go back and say, well, DHs never get more than five years, which is probably still true.
But the fact is that you have an older one who had a career year still getting five years.
He was a couple of years older.
