Because, of course, Britain had no ability to protect Poland anyway.

You might remember at the end of the war, Poland got turned over to Stalin and was enslaved until 1991.

As soon as we sack Berlin, we'd had to declare war on Moscow.

If we were going to liberate Poland, we weren't going to go that far.
