Yeah, makes a lot of freaking sense.
And I think what's happening with voting and threats to the midterms before and after is incredibly ripe territory for journalism.
It's all kind of monolithic.
It's hard to discern the good from the bad.
And I worry about my kids as news consumers that they see the slop and don't contrast it with actual enterprise reporting.
It is noteworthy that so many of the people who've been pardoned, Don, are people who were convicted of fraud, like a whole string of fraud pardons.
And the pattern is noteworthy.
And a lot of pardons of famous people, a lot of pardons of his supporters.
But for the people who were victimized on January 6th, think about the police, think about the staffers hiding beneath tables, behind barricaded doors, members of Congress wearing those masks, trying to evacuate as the rioters approached.
Those January 6th pardons were a re-traumatization.
And such a malignant use of pardon powers, they would argue, that they do wonder who's to be pardoned next.
If there's no mindfulness of victims of that crime or these fraud crimes, is a set of blanket pardons inevitable if Democrats take over?
If for no other reason than Democrats will subpoena people, they expect to honor those subpoenas.
If those subpoenas are not honored, it becomes a possible criminal prosecution, though that'd be a prosecution by Pam Bondi.
And no matter whether you know it or not, you are a mentor to a lot of people.
A lot of us journalists, independent journalists, and we do appreciate your setting an example for how to do this right.
