Like who wants that?
Who in the hell wants to get angry watching television at night or watching a screen at night?
I think one of the things independent media does is it meets people where they are.
It speaks to them like human beings with respect, with an understanding that they know just as much as we know about a lot of things and we need to engage them.
Look at their comments.
See what they recommend.
See what they recommend we ask.
Linear media isn't doing that.
They're not, in a broad way, finding out what the people actually want to know about and bringing those questions to the powerful.
I'll tell you what frustrates me, too, and you see this.
I get really frustrated when I see name-calling of reporters during a briefing, calling them piggy or ugly.

Why don't they do that, Scott?
It's a missed opportunity.
You understand what credibility you'd earn with so many Americans by just standing up for the person next to you.
Your question doesn't matter nearly as much as that would.
Even out of self-interest, if you want to be really unscrupulous about this, do you understand what it would do for your personal value as a journalist, your professional value, if you did that instead of ask another watered-down question that's going to be ducked or dodged?
