You know it's a big deal.
You know it's an important anniversary.
And this silence in the Capitol was deafening.
And so what was left?
What was left was media organizations from across the country
telling you what the president said about it, talking about that January 6th website the White House put out, and not channeling the voices of the victims.
And that frustrated me across the board.
Everybody had some equity in that problem, and I would like to stand to try to fix that.
I have a contrarian's view on this.
There was a town hall at CBS a few weeks ago, just before I left, in which they made a really strong argument that we cannot be in the commodity news business.
If we're telling you things that people have already reported or are on your phones right now, there's not much of a future.
If you have enterprise reporting, there's a bright future.
In 60 Minutes, enterprise is better than any news organization in network news.
So I think there's a bright future there.
chasing that North Star.
And I think all the other platforms at CBS, if they chase enterprise reporting, they're gonna do the same.
I just wonder, in the linear space,
Is there enough revenue to sustain as many players as are there?
It feels like everything's got to shrink.
