It's the time where I get to say, yes, I know logically it's really silly for my emotional well-being to be so invested in how good 18 to 22-year-old young men are at playing football or basketball.
But you know what?
Give me this one thing.
I don't have to.
I don't have to rationalize this.
I don't have to explain it to you.
I tried while I was in Canada for seven years.
I tried to explain to my Canadian friends why I was so sad that Duke lost a basketball game.
Canadians never understood and never could understand.
And that's fine.
It's fine.
So you don't have to explain yourself, Donald.
You are entitled to something in your life that is just purely emotional and fun and doesn't follow reason or logic.
When I was growing up, Chris Chelios was evil, dirty, horrible enemy hockey player.
And then he got traded to the Red Wings.
And then he was great.
And we loved him.
I went to school with a couple of his kids.
And you know what?
If I think about that for more than five seconds, I recognize how dumb that is.
