I have to bite my tongue a little bit.
So I'm prefacing it with that.
UConn fans are very different from UConn students and UConn employees.
That is one thing that I think not everyone is aware of is that because UConn is sort of the
school of the essentially that's the large university of all of New England there are a lot of UConn fans who aren't UConn students just like you would think of for other big public institutions
And so in that line of thought, I think what I've realized is that there is a little bit of an inferiority complex amongst UConn fans.
Of the, we have six national titles, why aren't we talked about enough?
like Duke, Kentucky, UNC, Kansas.
And that drives a much higher level of vitriol from the average UConn basketball fan than of any of the other blue blood schools.
And so I can tell you guys for a fact that UConn fans will be out for blood.
You know,
that danny hurley i'm not sure if he exists in a state that isn't out for blood but he will be out for blood in this game and it will be an interesting week slash year for me on campus if yukon wins this game not that duke needs any more motivation but from for my sanity and well-being both physically and mentally let's go ahead and win this game fellas
Not yet, because I would say, again, I live in a scientific bubble.
The average physiology and neurobiology professor, although there are a few, isn't a basketball head like we are.
I will say that when I teach, the last two years I have taught a large lecture course that is an introduction to human anatomy course for aspiring pre-meds, pre-health students.
And I always begin the course with a, hey, let's sort of damp down, you know, the scariness of your new professor.
And I show the clip of I'm not sure if I mentioned this on the podcast before, but in the ESPN 30 for 30 documentary about the Naismith rules of basketball, when they go to when they go to Cameron Indoor Stadium and they show the little clip of the Cameron crazies, it's a close up of my face.
It's a close-up of me against Maryland my freshman year on campus.
And that was the B-roll of... What year?
So that was 2009.
