I have no problem with a small amount of inflation.
And also, I actually don't even have a problem with the larger amount of inflation because again,
that the more inflation that there is is essentially can be seen as like a wealth tax or something because it disproportionately impacts the owners of these assets.
And if you're taking out a loan on a house in a high inflationary environment, then you're going to pay back much less of the value of that house in a higher inflationary environment versus a deflationary environment.
Yeah, I have no problem with prices increasing over time as long as the amount of money that people are receiving to spend is actually greater than that rate.
So I believe that it makes sense to have an unconditional basic income floor.
So we have a floor that operates underneath this entire economy.
Everyone is earning income on top of that floor, and the floor is rising so that it's indexed to productivity.
Let's say if we had introduced a $1,000 a month basic income under Nixon in 71, then right now that would be close to, I think it would be like $2,300 a month, somewhere around there right now, that was indexed GDP per capita.
So that's what I think makes sense.
And you would actually have greater spending power through this increase in income versus the other way.
I just think that I think that makes more sense because even I think that over time we should be seeing ourselves as receiving more and more of this dividend like our investment instead of the opposite of seeing like like kind of perceiving a dividend through a price decrease.
Well, I laugh because Hillary is Hillary and she will say things based on the economic wins.
And so it's funny to me how she claims that she was thinking about this and thinking I'm running on it.
And maybe she was.
But what I also think is interesting is when she was running, she was actually against the idea of base income.
So it wasn't she didn't say, oh, I think it's a great idea, but we can't afford it.
she was not interested in the idea.
She didn't like it.
And so I think that she's just choosing.
