Honestly, I thought that version of Carlson had come and gone.
I talked to Chris Pronger yesterday, legendary NHL defenseman, also a super tough dude who hasn't been overly enamored with Carlson's game in the past.
And Carlson's on his Lawrence short list.
So that tells you something, man.
If Chris Pronger, who's as good as anybody who's ever done it, he's the last defenseman to win MVP, yada, yada.
He's like,
Boy, I don't know what got into Eric Carlson, but he's drinking some of the Ottawa-era Gatorade, right?
So people have taken notice.
He's not going to win the Norris.
He might not make the top five, but he is absolutely going to show up on the ballots, and it's going to be deserved.
The guy's been really, really good, and you can credit him for it.
You can credit Dan Muse for it.
You can wonder where this was for the two seasons that came before this one, but the dude has just been undeniably awesome.
I don't think you can do that.
But I also think, I think that Skinner's the guy at this point.
I thought he was really good against Ottawa last week.
