No, but to defend Joe, I think he says that out of emotion.

I don't think he actually believes that.

Because I think once this baseball season starts and the games matter, he's going to root for it.

for the team and you'll hear it you'll hear it on Saturdays when he's on the air like he'll be passionate about them winning so I think when he says that and people say that it's emotional and look I was emotional too I didn't want to lose Pete Alonso but I also know that I'm a Met fan first and I want to see my team win and I would gladly trade every player I have an emotional attachment to to win a world championship I haven't seen a world championship

Yes, in an ideal world, it'd be great if it was Alonzo and it was DeGrom and it was every other homegrown guy that this franchise ever had.

And I think in defense of Joe, that's his emotional response to losing Pete, which I had too.

But eventually when the season starts, or even now, as we've had time to move on from it, he wants the Mets to win.
