That's an extra level of automation that traditional pumps don't provide.
So with diabetes, we talk about the concept of N of one, everybody's there N of one.
And what it really means is that you have to ask that question to each and every individual person who uses the islet.
But I'll answer for myself.
For me, counting carbs is a skill that even as bad as I am, I have at some level.
So that one for me is fine.
For me, a much larger benefit is the concept of not
really needed to do anything else.
Traditionally, with automated insulin delivery systems, you're gonna eat, you're gonna monitor your blood sugar, two, three hours later, you look at it, you're a little high, that's very typical, and you're gonna need to deliver additional insulin.
We call that correction insulin.
We tell the pump to do it, it gives you the insulin.
In the case of the islet, not only do you not need to do that, but in fact, you cannot do that.
And the reason is that we've done it for you.
We've looked at your blood sugar, we've reacted to it, there's nothing to do.
We've also combed through our real-world evidence data and found that there is a large cross-section of our users who choose not to announce meals at all.
And the outcomes with that has been also quite impressive.
I've tried it myself, and that's the way I tend to use the product these days, generally, as I call very few meals.
So the point of the product has always been to reduce the burden of living with T1, and it really does that for me.
I think more than not so much enjoy the fact is probably accurate.
