I'm not going to be doomsdayer.
I'm not the sky is falling.
I would just say if I were a diehard Met fan...
It would just piss me off that this came out yesterday.
And I'm not saying that they didn't know a week ago.
Maybe David Stearns was telling us the truth.
They had no idea.
We knew that he had his elbow cleaned out this offseason.
That was planned, and they did it.
And all good.
But we had no idea that he broke a bone in his hand.
And what frustrates me, and I believe frustrates diehard Met fans, and it would frustrate Yankee fans if it was a top two or three player on the Yankee roster, when you're all excited for spring training to start.
It is a big deal for guys like you, diehard baseball fans.
And the first bit of news you get is, oh, by the way, the captain of your team, the second best player on your team, your I play 162, right?
Something that we respect.
A guy that doesn't really take days off is now telling you, I'm not going to participate in spring training because I need surgery.
and had the surgery, or I guess he's having the surgery today.
As a fan, I don't care who you root for, it is a universal thought that pisses us off.
Rightfully so.
