So that's all that is.
But here's what I don't understand.
But whatever.
So who cares if you're not paying for it?
Like the thing that gets me, and it's obvious that the Mets would rather Francisco Lindor not playing the WBC.
But if there's a guy willing to write the check and Bad Bunny, who's like the most famous son of Puerto Rico now and extraordinarily wealthy, if he's willing to stroke the check and they find an above board insurance company, Lloyd's of London or something, that's willing...
to insure against Francisco Lindor being injured, or for that matter, Jose Altuve, or for that matter, Carlos Correa, why would the Mets give a rat's ass as long as someone else is paying it and the insurance protects them against his contract?
And the answer to that question is they don't want him playing, but they're not going to say that.
Because they know, especially to the Latin American players, the World Baseball Classic is a very, very big deal.
Now, I get the sense this year more than any other year, the Americans think it's a big deal also.
But let's be honest about it.
Venezuela, Cuba, Puerto Rico, the Dominican, this is a big deal to those guys.
And the fact that Francisco Lindor couldn't get insurance and the Mets don't want anyone else to give him insurance is the type of thing...
that also creates a wedge between a team and a player.
Now, I'm not saying that's the case with the Mets.
But when you say, hey, Bad Bunny, we're not going to let you cover the insurance, that gets back to Francisco Lindor.
You think Lindor is happy about it?
Probably not.
Probably not.
Right.
