Do you want to cover the insurance against your $300 million contract?
Let's make it up.
I'm going to make up a crazy number.
Let's say Lloyds of London says, all right, Francisco, we are concerned about the elbow because you had it cleaned out this offseason.
Can't deny that that happened, right?
We're going to charge you a million dollars.
And if you give us a million dollars, we will insure the rest of your New York Mets contract against an injury.
That's the purpose of having insurance for the World Baseball Classic.
Protect these teams against a player getting injured, and you're on the hook for the salary.
If someone said to Francisco Lindor, and I think it's an outrageous number, a million dollars.
If you want to play for Puerto Rico that badly, write the effing check.
Don't put it on the Mets.
Don't wait for Bad Bunny to come save the day.
If you want to play that badly, then stroke the check.
And I say the same thing to Carlos Correa, who's made a gazillion dollars in his career.
And I say the same thing to Jose Altuve, who's also made a gazillion dollars in his career.
Doling back on the reality of that...
well, I'm nursing or had an injury last year, and, you know, the insurance is a little bit expensive.
It's not.
When you've made $300, $400, $500 million, guess what, guys?
