Well, here's the other reason I'm not in love with Trocek.
I don't think if Sid was healthy, they'd be looking to upgrade that position.
because you've got Ben Kindle, who you want to be your second or third line center of the future.
And if you bring in Trocek, what, are you going to move him to wing, and then he's going to be less effective, and then he's at $5.6 million, and I don't want to stunt Kindle's development.
So I've said I don't want rentals.
There's an exception to that.
In the case of the center position,
If there's a guy who you could get for the next month plus, and his contract expires at the end of the season, but he can help fill the depth role while Sid's out, and you don't have to give up a lot for him, and you've got a ton of draft picks, I could live with that.
Like a Sidney Crosby stopgap kind of guy.
But I'm interested to see how much Kendall plays center while Sid is out.
