so that it might become a ceasefire, all but in name.
The only thing one could say is that for Lebanese in Beirut, in Sidon, in the big cities, they haven't had any attacks on them, any Israeli strikes, since the ceasefire came into force.
You could certainly interpret that way.
As I was saying, Mr Netanyahu is not keen really on there being a ceasefire either in Lebanon or in Iran.
Again, he feels that Iran, the regime there, needs to be obliterated.
It needs to be done away with and that isn't what's going to happen at the moment necessarily.
And if the ceasefire continues, if there are peace talks, if they do reach some kind of resolution, then the existential threat that Mr. Netanyahu has talked about for decades with reference to Iran and its regime, well, he won't have dealt with that.
And that was his promise to the Israeli people this time, both about Iran and about Lebanon.
So I think there's no secret there.
that he would prefer to some degree for the military aspect of his conflict to continue for longer until potentially those goals are achieved.
So you could say that in making this move, in making this announcement so quickly after the latest hopes for a new round of peace talks faded, at least for now, that this is another attempt to destabilise that process.
Were you allowed to go there freely?
Were you accompanied by minders?
Do you know how much radiation you were exposed to?
What's the message from Iran essentially saying? If President Trump is going to keep up his pressure, they're going to keep up theirs. I mean, President Trump was keen to say in his announcements overnight after he had said there was going to be an extension to the ceasefire.
I mean the ceasefire will hold as long as President Trump feels that it is in his interest and the interest of the U.S. I think it's more likely, well it's 100% going to be the U.S. which reignites the war. I mean obviously they, with Israel, they started it. So it's not Iran, I think.
who are necessarily going to start their barrages of missiles again. I mean, those were in response to the attacks by the US and Israel. But the trust that obviously is lacking between these two sides over decades of hostility and bad-mouthing each other doesn't seem to be in any sense re-established between them. And what we've been hearing, the little we've been hearing, to be honest, from the Iranian side, has very much focused on that, saying that any trust there might have been is gone.
