Make sure I'm right on that.
I know he's 22, but I want to see how close he is to being 23.
But if we call this year 22, 23, 24.
After his 24-year-old season is when the Jets gave the extension to Sauce Gardner.
Then after the 25-year-old season would put him where, okay, are we going to franchise tag him or are we going to give him the extension?
Turned 22 last December.
So, yeah, so he'll turn 23 in season.
Yeah, around week 16, 15.
So, you know, to me, I don't ever, for me personally, I don't ever want to be given a corner or second contract.
Like, I want to flip this guy after four years is what I want to do.
I want him to be a stud, and I want to flip him again because I think corners fall off.
You know, your physical, your athletic prime is like 26, 27 years old.
You're on the downslope after that.
And I think especially the physical attributes it takes to play corner, which is to read and react and to react quickly, efficiently.
to a degree violently, not as far as delivering a blow, but to flip your hips to go with a guy who's taking off on a dead sprint after you're facing the other way, that's a jerk your body around and go.
And when you start tightening up when you get old and you don't have that quick twitch, they start going right by you.
And so, you know, this still β and this is the thing I worry about is that I think Patrick Mahomes has β
you know, hopefully eight more good years.
And so the plan should be to have the eight best years you can have, not to have the best year this year.
