I love this story so much.

I grew up wanting to be around lasers, and then I ended up working with lasers for many years.

Then my last job,

was a product manager at a company.

In 2009, I left the company and they were developing this kind of stuff, but not exactly.

It was high voltage directed through a laser.

But the idea was the same for defense to destroy the enemy.

But let me take you back to the 1980s a little bit.

So Reagan famously

show the world what America was potentially able to do, right?

Star Wars.

And the idea is that, you know, don't worry.

We're going to protect you.

We have these laser beams.
