These things are really powerful because they build the connections in our brain because the connections between our neurons are deconditioning during our life if we don't use it.
So we need to keep challenging it.
Defaulting to easy tasks is basically the mental equivalent of not exercising.
That's how powerful it is in that sense.
So give us an example.
Well, sitting on the couch and watching TV and saying, well, I'm just going to watch Netflix.
Taking the lift and not the stairs.
Exactly.
Exactly.
Number five is cold exposure.
And similar to the heat, we activate these things called cold shock proteins.
We're doing things like increasing brown fat, which is mitochondria, which is all about our energy.
We want more energy.
We need more oxygen.
And so brown fat is an element of that, increases our mood and alertness.
We are chasing dopamine.
We're all chasing dopamine.
