It's winter in Melbourne and it can get pretty cold.

and he went to my auntie's birthday, had a few drinks, came home, house was freezing, his back was feeling a bit sore.

Thank God he took his slacks off, his pants off.

Sort of my sort of stepbrother by marriage, I guess, if you will, my dad's sort of last wife who's no longer with us, her son Brad, he's in the fire brigade.

He just said, oh, mate, it'll all be gone.

He laid down in front of the gas heater and

And fell to sleep and I estimate he was asleep in front of it for three hours and he woke up feeling he was laying in water and that was in fact all the blisters that had formed over his body and they'd all burst and he was laying in the liquid that his body had been excreting.

So he was burnt severely and so he had to go to the burns unit.

I was overseas.

My brother kind of made out it was –

not as bad as it was because I'd just got there with the whole family.

So he thought, I can't take the burns away.

He's like, so, as he said, you know, kind of said something like, I didn't need to burn you with the burden of that.

It wasn't going to help Dad.

And then when you get back, you know, and he said, you know, me and the rest of the family had it covered.

And then so I got to come home to that, if you will.

Anyway, his muscles deteriorated.

He couldn't move.

Like for him to have a cold shower, to stand on a cold running water, he was on like this really heavy drug to stand on a cold water.

So, yeah, so it meant dad's muscles, you know.
