Malcolm Blight is the breakout star of all this.

So before the grand final, our man Peter McFarlane is writing about this, and he is making the case that Blighty should commentate the grand final.

In my opinion, Blight should be the man because of his ability to explain his thoughts logically and his refusal to become involved in the hysteria that somehow is part and parcel of football coverage in Victoria.

He is being seen as someone who is doing things a lot different to anyone before.

He ends up commentating the grand final.

And at the same time, Geelong is looking for a coach.

Now, this is the time where there's no full-time assistance.

There's not a lot of science to picking a coach.

It's a bit of gut feel.

It's a bit of reputation as a player and a figure in the game.

But right at this moment, even though Blight has been away in South Australia, he stands out because he's been on TV all season talking football in a way that has really been heard before.

If he hadn't have been, he would have been in South Australia, maybe not even coaching and out of sight, out of mind.
