I think, you know, these things, it's often...
If there is a lack of public confidence, I guess, in the justice system, everyone's saying it, but it's very hard to portray that, I guess.
And the petition is just one way, I guess, of us trying to show that in numbers.
I haven't really had a second since the sentencing last week we've kind of gone straight into fight mode I think yeah burning the candle at both ends like so running on adrenaline I think at the moment and
I mean, I guess what we're hoping for is it's appealed and the value of Martin's life is properly reflected in a much stronger sentence.
We try to remember Martin in various ways that we can.
There's his favourite Sunday night Chinese order.
Just a kid's love.
Yeah.
His ex-colleagues planted a giant redwood tree that will live for thousands of years.
So that lawn must be passed down through our family, which is nice.
It's a permanent reminder of Martin.
We try to remember him in every family celebration and event that we have.
Yeah, it's incredibly difficult.
It's left a huge hole for us and it's not something that you ever get over.
I don't think it's something you can ever accept either when there was no reason for it.
It's not like it was an accident or an illness or something unfortunate happening.
It was a deliberate, unprovoked attack and that's a completely...
um difficult thing to ever accept or or understand so unfortunately it's something that we have to learn to live with for forever yeah well best of luck with the petition thank you and thank you so much for coming on thank you for sharing the story thanks thanks
