A little bit reserved and shy, I suppose, but really, really gentle and good natured.

He had a huge group of friends from all different walks of life, young, old, different backgrounds.

People just really warmed to him, even though he was so shy and he could be kind of awkward as well at times.

I think people felt very protective over Martin as well.

He was a very small, small guy.

And so softly spoken, I definitely feel, yeah, people always over the years looked out for him.

Like he went to an all boys secondary school, which I worried about at the time.

But I think all the lads, no one picked on him.

Everyone just, everyone looked out for him.

He just had that,

aura about him, I suppose, that people warm to him straight away.

Yeah, so on the day we were at a wedding, it was our first night away from our baby girl.

We left her with my parents that night in the family home in Whitehall.

Martin went out to the cinema that evening with his friends.

He went for a few drinks afterwards and took a taxi home.

At about 4.30 in the morning, the taxi pulled up outside our family home.

Martin got out of the car.

He was making his way towards our front door.

He had his hands in his pockets, just kind of casually making his way to the door.

And a motorcyclist pulled up behind, was trying to get around the taxi.
