I could control my variables.
Mm-hmm.
Yeah.
And I hated it.
I hated the whole thing.
It was interesting.
I don't know.
I liked the rigidity of it.
I liked the routine.
It made sense, but at the end of the day, I was not happy.
And so I got all the way back to the year of the London Olympics and retired.
And just said, I can't do this anymore.
Legitimately, the year of the Olympics, I was in my head.
The worst case scenario was me making the team.
Because I just didn't want to do it.
I didn't want to go there.
I didn't want to be a part of that anymore.
I just didn't love it.
And so I ended up retiring.
And Dana Katz called me the day I retired and said, actually, it's great that you're not competing because you can come on this season.
