And I remember reading it and thinking, wow, I wish I'd had this at school.
I wish I'd had it when I first started studying.
I wish I'd had something that condensed how I was thinking.
You see, a mind map will boost your creativity and it actually improves your memory because it helps to turn complex ideas
into something clear and manageable.
What I've described to you, you think of a solid tree with branches and that solid tree in the middle, that thick trunk is your idea.
And the branches are the topics that you're going to speak about within that idea.
And if you're going to expand further, you take another branch from the branch.
I remember when I visited Australia and some of my family took me to, I can't remember the name right now, but it was the forest of tall trees and trees that were so different.
And every tree I saw had this great thick stump.
and then the branches going out from it.
And I remember thinking, if every time I'm planning a new idea and something new,
I thought of the trees in Australia in the forest, walking on the path, seeing this thick tree, looking at how tall it was and looking at the branches coming out from the tree, the topics that I was going to speak about in my presentation or
in a project or something I was working at with a client.
It was incredible.
So let's look at the steps to create that mind map and then I'll share some other ways that I've used the mind map.
Let's break it down into simple steps that you can try for yourself.
I'm not about complexity and in social media and everywhere I go I can feel my like a red rag to a bull when I see people with complex structures pages and pages up to 60 or 70 pages of notes then they try to explain to me what they're thinking
And what I've been doing this year is introducing them to mind maps so that when they are challenged, they feel they've hit a boulder in the middle of the road, they can do a mind map.
So let me take you through the steps and I'll try and be as simple as I can so that you can understand how this works.
