So USA Today's Bob Nightingale in his weekly Sunday column had this to report earlier this morning.

So, to that end...

Nick, got a couple of texts.

Mark in King City, given Bo wants out of New York, what about exploring a trade?

He posits Mets picking up half the salary.

Jays get Bo for a pair of minor leaguers.

Sherry in Sackville talking about what's going on with Vlad and the team is psychological.

They don't have their mojo and not having Bo is a big part of that.

Paraphrasing, of course.

I mean, I'd be surprised, truthfully, if...

one of two things happened.

One, that if the team went out and acquired Bowe, given that he's still getting paid lots of money, because then he would still have to opt out, right?

So I think there's almost certainly no way that's happening.

But if he were to opt out in the offseason, that's way down the line.

I do wonder about that.

Again, in the offseason, it did not seem like the Jays were particularly

closely linked to him, so I guess I would still be surprised if that happened, but I understand why we get texts about Bo, because obviously he has a long history of success here.

Well, Nick, I hope there are happier times for us on Jace Talk when we do this again.

You and I will be back together, I believe, next Sunday.
