Mark and Oakville, as Vladdy's average inevitably falls, at what point does it no longer justify the lack of power?
Because it's true.
I mean, you know, if Vladdy hit like 350 plus over the course of the whole season, he's probably like, you know, with the way he hits the ball, he's probably the American League MVP.
At that point, right?
So let's assume he cools off a teensy bit because most guys do, right?
And, you know, I would say the opposite is probably also true in the sense that guys who are not hitting super hot will probably heat up.
There'll be some regression, positive or negative, I would say, over the course of a really long season.
But I do think for me, and again, we were talking about Okamoto home run, the second one, it was a two-run bomb because Vladdy worked a walk.
I do think...
I do look at the OBP.
I do look at the OPS on baseball slugging for those who are unaware.
I look at all of that when I look at Vladdy.
So it's not, for me at least, it's not just looking at his batting average.
And I said this too on the pregame show, but given what he has done for me again, what he has done so far this season, I just find it hard to put too much of the onus of any possible offensive struggles.
And they did not struggle offensively tonight, but I find it too hard to...
put a lot of it on him, even though he is, you know, the face of the franchise and is making a bazillion dollars.
Yeah, Vladi after tonight, 342 batting average.
He was 0 for 4 with a walk tonight, but again, the walk being pretty impactful.
This score run because he was on base for the Okamoto blast.
You know, we talked about Lenin Sosa earlier.
