He just didn't work enough.
You know what I mean?
I need to see him a bit more of a workload for that.
He came in for a couple minutes.
He threw one pitch.
Same with Lenin Sosa, right?
Like he delivered the big hit of the game for the Blue Jays.
But, you know, I want someone with a more holistic contribution to the game.
That's why I'm going to go with Ernie Clement.
A couple hits in this game.
He gets them started for that big eighth inning.
Also, some really strong work in the field.
He robbed a base hit in the sixth inning to help Spencer Miles get through it, and he started the game-ending double play.
Not that it was an unbelievably difficult one, but it wasn't the most routine one either because it was a relatively soft hit ball.
Great contribution from Clement across the board in this one.
you really can't ask for much more than this.
You know, this is a five-inning start, one run on the board, 65 pitches, a big contrast to what we saw from Dylan Cease in the last game.
He really leaned on the sinker in this one.
We talked before the game that it was going to be this five-pitch repertoire, and that's what makes him good at times is he's unpredictable, and the sequencing can be interesting.
It was more sinker-slider with him in this one.
