It does seem to be the best lifeline for the airline if the government actually gets involved and offers them some $500 million in exchange for equity.

And it will also sort of put off other suitors.

Like we previously heard that Spirit was in talks with Frontier Airlines.

Remember the JetBlue deal was scuttled.

So there's been lots of action for Spirit, and this is the sort of latest development in that story.

And this could be the potential sort of help that they could get.
