And the complicating factor was that two friends had just turned up on a yacht and they needed some help to deliver it across the Pacific.
Now, that was a really special, rare trip.
And that was going to be very slow.
And we'd do Panama, Galapagos, Fiji, Tuamotus, Marquesas.
So I said to Rudolf, and I've been offered this trip across the Pacific.
And he said, how long does that take?
Rudolf, nobody knows.
It could be six months.
OK, see you in six months.
Bye.
Put the phone down.
I kind of thought, well, that's an option.
And then as we did the trip, we went through Panama Canal, you know, through Galapagos.
And I was faxing his American agent, faxed back then, of course, trying to get more information.
Nothing happened.
And then I faxed his European agent, Luigi, and a fax came straight back.
He realized that if there was somebody who wanted a position to help Rudolf as an assistant, that was gold.
Rudolf needed that.
